Our paramedics treat critical patients in extreme conditions every day. Our crews are constantly expanding their clinical experience beyond what is often considered standard care.
If you are a paramedic in the Northern Territory, you will find yourself:
- Responding to a significant number of medical and trauma cases requiring full application of clinical knowledge and skills
- Demonstrating your adaptive and creative thinking skills through overcoming language and cultural barriers in treating a diverse patient population
- Delivering care with a wide scope of practice supported by the St John NT Clinical Practice Manual
- Developing an understanding of the unique characteristics of living and working under extreme weather conditions and in ‘out of the ordinary’ situations
- Treating complex cases, often in remote locations requiring 4WD, boat or plane access
Though the paramedicine field in the Territory is tough, it may just be one of the most rewarding places to work.
If you hold a current Authority to Practice as a Paramedic with an Australian State or Territory Ambulance Service, you are eligible to apply for vacant Qualified Paramedic positions with St John NT. Please see our careers page for details of available opportunities.
All St John NT staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
