St John NT has held its night of nights recognising staff who touch the lives of tens of thousands of people across the Territory through providing life-saving medical assistance, education and support.
The winners of the 2024 Excellence Awards were announced at a special event hosted by Health Minister Steve Edington and attended by distinguished guests and family and friends of St John NT.
The awards recognised the work of our Paramedics, Emergency Medical Dispatchers, Patient Transport Officers, volunteers and support staff from across the organisation.
St John NT CEO Andrew Tombs said the awards were an opportunity to highlight the dedication and passion of those who act as mentors and leaders in our service and who provide inspiration to others in how we care for the community.
“I am proud of everyone for what they do each day in sometimes challenging circumstances and especially those recognised as part of the awards,” he said.
“These staff members and volunteers work each day within the community to provide life-saving medical assistance, vital first aid training and support services. They put others before themselves often going beyond the call of duty to provide critical life-saving support services to the Northern Territory community.”
This year was made more special as St John NT and the Rotary Club of Darwin Sunrise celebrated 25 years of recognising Paramedics through the Paramedic of the Year Award.
“From humble beginnings and in partnership with St John NT, the awards have flourished and grown into the St John NT Excellence Awards,” Rotary Club of Darwin Sunrise President Mr Joseph Aladin said.
“Rotary Club of Darwin Sunrise is proud to support the awards, which align with our belief that an individual can serve their community through exemplary professional practise, through the demonstration of integrity and high ethical standards.”
